Seasons In The Sun

I first heard this song as a young girl around the age of 10, I was in Shawnee in the Poconos on vacation with my family.  It struck a chord with me immediately.  My Father had been ill most of my life and it always brings tears to my eyes.

It has been a fitting song that has lingered on in my heart as my father was born and died in September.  It feels as if the seasons change and flowers begin to die, my heart aches missing my dad, and the beauty he brought in to my world.  This September 14th will mark the 22 years since his passing.

The beauty I remember is that our daughter was born in September, six weeks premature and she got to meet my dad or I should say he met her.  We have one photo of them, it is a treasure for me.  It was a month shy of my 26th birthday.

“Goodbye Michelle, my little one
You gave me love and helped me find the sun
And every time that I was down
You would always come around
And get my feet back on the ground”
