Love Affair

Recently Stand Up To Cancer has been running a Valentine Campaign, to #KissCancerGoodbye. It is a simple task, post a photo of a kiss use, the hashtag and share it.

This has been great fun for me, for those of you who know me, know I love kissing photos with my love. We have photos from many places and countries sharing a kiss. Our kids used to tease us, but, I think as they are young adults they have come to appreciate our love affair.

We have always been excited to spend our time together from the beginning of dating until now, just shy of 24 years of marriage. My heart beats faster at the site of my husband, my smile broadens when he touches me, and my eyes drink up his love with a kiss from him.

Our love affair has grown over the years and we take pride in nurturing it and it has blossomed over the years. I’m thankful that my husband is my best friend, that just being in each others company is enough for us. I love the adventures we take and the memories we make.

This weekend we will take on NYC and I can promise their will be kissing photos! The campaign has given me an excuse to look back over the years and smile at all of them, but it is our love that will keep those kisses keep on keeping on!

It Ain’t Easy ..

From the beginning of time life was not about easy. Just look at Adam and Eve, they had it all, but temptation got the best of them. If you check your birth certificate I am certain you will not find a certified stamp guaranteeing an easy life.

Some folks are trying to have babies while others just toss them away without any value for life. There are people without homes and people with multiple homes. Those without jobs and those who spend more time at their job trying to avoid the work.

The list can go on and on. There will be times when you might question why me? I can’t imagine anyone who has not. Not every question we have will be answered in a way we will understand or comprehend. Knowing of all the wrongs in the world, the evils that lie ahead of everyday, some days may want to have you hide under a rock. I hope that you will feel the warmth of the sun, peek out from under that rock and embrace the smallest of all joys that do surround you.

I have all kinds of friendships and people that have crossed my path in my 47 years. I can say the truly richest are those that give thanks each day, appreciate the sunrise for which they are alive another day, and give willingly of themselves. It is easy to judge someone from afar but you have no idea of their daily struggles, so be kind.

It is much easier to be kind and smile then to harbor anger and resentment. You never know what your smile or kind word will do for someone you come across in your life, no matter how brief the moment.

A life filled with love is a life worth living!

2015 So Far So Good

The New Year is off to a good start and my realistic resolutions are in check. As we are more then half way through the first month I am finding my balance ( a Libra thing) in check with the goals I have set for myself.

Why I am a big fan of trying new things and going outside my comfort zone, I might say that the glass of wine that was spilled in my seat during travel in the sky was not what I was thinking. Thankfully I packed a sense of humor and extra jeans for our trip.

We kicked off our travel itinerary with our first trip of the year to visit our son & daughter in law in San Diego. They had set up quite an itinerary for us and we were eager to visit on their turf and follow their lead. They proved to exhilarate our hunger for the outdoor life, new things and a great balance of time to enjoy each other. We were happy to see married life has been treating them so well.

We are back home, enjoying our routines, which gives us comfort no matter how crazy certain days can be. We miss our kids but are truly delighted with all they have going on in their lives.

Next month begins wedding plans as we vacation in at our villa in Cabo. I even purchased our daughters first gift for her trousseau!!

So 2015 if is off to a blissful start and we couldn’t be more thankful.

My Realistic Resolutions

Hello 2015, I welcome you with an abundance of joy and anticipation of what is to come. I am not a big fan of setting one’s self up for failure, which many resolutions happen to do. Instead I have created a realistic list that I look forward to keeping.

These are in no particular order:

1) Start my day with giving thanks to waking up and before I get out of bed remind myself of one thing that I happen to like/love about myself.

2) Allow myself two days a week without guilt of no scheduled workout, not to say fitness won’t occur but if it does it will be a bonus, if it does not my body will enjoy a rest day.

3) I promise to challenge myself at least once a month with various things that are uncomfortable for me or new to me, because I am a creature of habit, schedule and control.

4) To read a minimum of one novel a month.

5) Less time on social media and more time socially with those whose company I really enjoy

6) To visit my children at least twice each this year at their homes in CA and TX

7) I will let go of all bad energy and those that create it.

8) To take a trip once a month, it can be as simple as overnight or the next town but get out of dodge and schedules.

9) To go through photos and start to scan them for my children so they have them on digital files.

10) To enjoy the process of planning for our daughters wedding and allowing her wishes to be front and center and not allow anyone else to cause stress in the process or her day.

That’s a wrap, it’s a small step but tonight we are going to the movie theatre, it has been years so thanks #3!
